چکیده

Multi-party communications taking place within organizations lead to different interaction modes between agents (e.g. (in)direct communication between roles, (in)direct communication restricted to a group, etc). Fully normative organisations need to regulate and control those modes as they do for agents’ behaviors. This paper proposes to extend the normative organization model Moise in order to specify such interaction modes between autonomous agents participating to an organization. This specification has two purposes: (i) to make the multi-agent organization able to monitor the interaction between the agents, (ii) to make the agents able to reason on these modes as they can do on norms. The paper is focused on the first point. We illustrate with a crisis management application how this extension has been implemented thanks to a specialization of the Easi interaction model.

Normative Multi-Agent Organizations: Modeling, Support and Control, Draft Version

In the last years, social and organizational aspects of agency have become a major issue in multi-agent systems’ research. Recent applications of MAS enforce the need of using these aspects in order to ensure some social order within these systems. Tools to control and regulate the overall functioning of the system are needed in order to enforce global laws on the autonomous agents operating in...

Coordinating Agents in Organizations Using Social Commitments

One of the main challenges faced by the multi-agent community is to ensure the coordination of autonomous agents in open heterogeneous multi-agent systems. In order to coordinate their behaviour, the agents should be able to interact with each other. Social commitments have been used in recent years as an answer to the challenges of enabling heterogeneous agents to communicate and interact succ...

A Norm-Based Organization Management System

Virtual organizations are conceived as an effective mechanism for ensuring coordination and global goal fulfilment of an open system, in which heterogeneous entities (agents or services) interact and might also present self-interested behaviours. Organizations describe the system functionality, structure and dynamics. However, available tools rarely give support for these organizational abstrac...

THOMAS: An agent platform for supporting normative multi-agent systems

Open Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) are formed by autonomous and heterogeneous agents that may pursue different and even conflicting goals. Therefore, no assumption can be a priori made about their behaviours. Thus, it is needed to constrain the potential excesses of agent autonomous behaviour by means of regulation of agent interaction. Because of this, “social” notions, such as organizations, inst...

Spécification des modes d'interaction au sein d'organisations multi-agents
